As per the Shade Elementary Handbook:

1.     Homework is not given as “busy work.”  It is given as extra practice and to reinforce the concepts that were covered in class.  If it is given, it is necessary and your child is expected to complete it on time.  Please be aware that a homework grade is given each nine weeks.

2.     Students will receive a “homework checkmark” each time an assignment hasn’t been completed.   Consequences are as follows:

3 marks – A note is sent home to parents, to be signed and returned by the next day.

4 marks – Student loses 2 days of recess.  The student will go to the study room and work on activities to reinforce the subject.

5 marks – Student loses 5 days of recess.  The student will go to the study room and work on activities to reinforce the subject.

6 marks – Mr. Krupper is made aware of the student’s lack of performance, which will result in probable after-school detention.
