When drawing the hands on the clock for times to the half hour, please make sure the hour hand is half way between the 2 numbers.  Ex: 4:30 - The hour hand should be between the 4 and 5.  

 

Also, please make sure your child draws the hour hand shorter than the minute hand.  The hour hand should never be touching any numbers.  For o'clock the minute hand should cover the 12, and for half-past the hour, the minute hand should cover the 6.

On the open number line start at the first addend.  Then break apart the the second addend into two parts and label the number line to show that you added each part.  Finish the equation by writing the sum.  I will be checking to see that the jumps and number line are both labeled!
