Mrs. Naret - 1st Grade

Welcome to Mrs. Naret's Class!

"Yes, kids love technology, but they also love Legos, scented markers, handstands, books, and mud puddles.  It's all about balance." - K.G., first-grade teacher

Shoe Tying

Our occupational therapist, Miss Terri, recently shared this video with me.  If your child is struggling with learning to tie their shoes or doesn't know how to yet, please check out the video by clicking the link below.  It's not the way we learned to tie our shoes, but may do the trick until they are ready to learn the traditional shoe tying method.  We hope you find it helpful!

Lunch Menu Change

Remote Learning Work - January 27, 2021

Remote learning work for Wednesday, January 27 was sent home today in the event that we are not in school tomorrow due to the weather.  If we are out of school tomorrow, you may use tomorrow and Wednesday to complete the remote learning work.  If we are in school tomorrow, please keep the remote learning work at home and complete it on Wednesday as planned.  If you have any questions, please send me an email.  Thank you.

Fluency Assessment - Land Ho!

Just a reminder that our fluency assessment on Land Ho! will be tomorrow.

Milk Folder

When returning the milk folder tomorrow, please ONLY place Wednesday's work in the milk folder.  Place Tuesday's math homework and other notes, excuses, bus changes, etc. in your child's regular daily folder like usual.  I may not have time to go through the milk folders immediately on Thursday morning, and I don't want to miss anything important.  Thank you!

Phys. Ed.

Beginning Thursday, January 21, Phys. Ed. has been moved from Friday to Thursday for the remainder of the school year.  Please make sure your child wears sneakers to participate!

NO SCHOOL - Monday, January 18, 2021

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day will be observed by the district on Monday, January 18, 2021.  There will be NO SCHOOL for students this day.  School will resume on Tuesday, January 19.

Just a Reminder--Wednesday, January 20 will be a remote learning day.  Your child's assignments for Wednesday will be sent home with them on Tuesday.

Masks and Water Bottles

Please remind your child that their mask needs to be worn in school at all times.  Following this rule allows us to have in-person learning in the school building.

Make sure their mask or gaiter fits just right; not too tight and not so loose that it's hanging off their face.

Water bottles and reusable masks should be washed on a regular basis.

Work Pick-Up

As you have learned, we will continue with remote learning through Monday and Tuesday next week.  I spent this afternoon getting together the work your child will need in the event that remote learning goes beyond Tuesday, December 8.  These folders can be picked up tomorrow, Friday, December 4 from 10-12.  If you are unable to pick up your child's folder at that time, please call the elementary office and make arrangements to pick it up Friday afternoon or Monday.

In-person students - Please read the pink note inside the folder after you pick it up.

Full-time cyber students - New folders are ready for you to pick up as well that contain new reading material for Units 5 & 6.

I have emailed this information to everyone in our class and posted it in our Google Classroom, but please feel free to pass along this information to be sure everyone is in the loop.

I know this is last minute, but I wanted you and your child to have everything you need in the event that remote leaning continues longer than we expected.

Again, thank you for your patience and support.
